Beautiful

So I have this amazing job that I am able to make people feel beautiful, young, sexy and confident. It truely is wonderful to be able to do this day in and day out. These are two of my clients that now have hair extensions. This is real human hair that can be styled however they wish, that is bonded to the client's hair and lasts up to 5 months. This, so far has proven itself to do so. The extensions look so real that it is fairly hard to tell when someone has had the service done. As you can see from these before and after photos, the expressions on these women's faces in the after photo looks so much happier and younger and like they are ready to go and meet with the world. This started me thinking...

The bible tells us to take care of our bodies to use them as vessels for the glory of God. To not abuse the bodies that God has given us by eating too much(glutany) and being lazy unlike Jesus was. And I think about myself....

I started running back in October and made a promise to God that I would take more care of myself and prayed that he would help me stay on track and be healthier. Since then I put some worship music on my ipod and it's one of my times to meet with God and be challanged by him in yet another way. Because I have asked God to be my partner in this I feel great, I think look a touch better and mentally am healthier and closer in my relationship with God. And now a week from today I am attempting to run a half marathon, 13.1 miles. (yikes! pray for me please!)

I guess my point is, does this apply at all to our outward appearance? Is it wrong for me to feel better about myself when my nails are painted? Or my hair is styled nicely? Because I do! I think the trouble may just be when we start putting these worldly, material things before God.

Hey Mer... I don't think its wrong to want to look good, and yes, I agree that it just can't be more important than how we feel about Him. If our bodies are the "temple of the Holy Spirit", I would imagine that no matter what... we are always beautiful! YOU are a beautiful friend & I am blessed to have you in my life.... Good luck with the new blog and the marathon... I'm hoping to be there to cheer you on!

i can't tell you how excited i am that another one of my good friends is blogging! just try to keep up with it a little more than your husband okay?

i'm with you about keeping your body healthy. it makes you feel so much better and gives you energy to get more done and have a better attitude. god can definately use that more than laziness!

GOOD LUCK WITH THE MARATHON! hopefully we'll see you on the course, how cool would that be?

Meredith,

Good post. You should definitely keep this up. It's like a side of you that I've never seen. Not that I don't think you're capable of such brilliance. It's just that you aren't the person to throw your opinion out, unsolicited. I like it. I'm proud of you too for sticking with the marathon training. You are going to kick butt.

Matt, what have I told you? I don't want you to even think about my wife, you hear me? Attempting to spark a conversation with her on the internet is most certainly prohibited. I will rule your world. I am working out and will rock your face with some fat boy roundhouses. Bring it.......

And I just read the date you posted this, so I'm going to assume the half marathon has come and gone. Hope all went well!
